Deputy Prime Ministry of Industry and Trade Cao Quoc Hung has urged Vietnam Paper Corporation (Vinapaco) to move towards equitisation soon as there are many opportunities and challenges facing the industry this year.
Viet Nam’s paper industry has been facing difficulties in production due to the high cost of imported raw materials, though production has been stable since the start of this year.
Hong Kong-based Lee&Man Paper Manufacturing has received
in-principle approval from the Hau Giang People''s Committee to extend
the implementation progress of its paper complex in the southern
province until the end of next year.
Domestic paper companies have been asked to invest in new production
lines to save long term costs and improve quality as a number of larger
foreign firms have recently entered the industry.
